I think teams that rely on throwing the ball are going to have a VERY tough time against this defense. Kind of ironic given how staunch we have been against the run in recent history. My score prediction is based on UCLA being able to move the ball between the 20s but not in the red zone = lots of FGs. I don't see much of a defense and I'm optimistic that Burns will have two or three more opportunities over the top and hit more than one of them.

I know that some people put predictions in the thread about the Vegas line, but for ease of use, let's consolidate them here.
I think it will be a tighter game than we have seen, and I have a bad feeling that we might not leave with a win. But I still cannot bring myself to predict a loss so 20-17 Stanford. UCLA ties it at 17 with a minute and change left, and Ukropina nails the game winner with about 15 seconds left. Rosen gets them to our 40, but his Hail Marry is batted down in the end zone.

Well, UCLA lost to Texas A&M at TA&M in OT and beat BYU 17-14.
UCLA should bring out all the stops against us. I don't think they're going to try any field goals, I don't think they'll risk two pointers, and they don't have the defense for a safety. I think they'll get behind us early and play catch up. So I'm guessing UCLA gets 21. Not quite good enough to get to 28 against the Stanford defense, even at home.
Stanford has beaten UCLA eight straight times. We have budding stars on our offense. I think Shaw will want to win, but will be extra-cautious because of the short week and Washington looming. We've scored 26 and 27 at home. Love will be healthier, offense has made lots of improvement, OL starting to look very good. I'll say 27 points. Three TDs, two field goals.

On one hand, I feel like UCLA should still be ranked (losing on the road to a team the AP currently has #10 should not punish you as much as they were punished (like, how are Ole Miss and OU ranked higher, with two losses each to top-15 teams by wider margins, and no wins of note at all). On the other hand, the bits of the UCLA games I've watched show me that they're still soft on the lines of scrimmage. Their offense is better than KSU or U$C, but I think we push them around.
We have to keep the foot down a little longer, but it's still a double digit win.

Comments on two themes for UCLA.
1. UCLA is still soft as marshmallows on both lines.
Maybe.
On offense, UCLA is only averaging 131 yds rushing per game (9th in Pac 12), and 3.46 yds per carry (12th in Pac 12). Obviously, that isn't great. However, they have played two teams that appear to have pretty tough front sevens - Texas AM is #33 in yds per rushing attempt allowed (3.22) and BYU is #35 (3.27). UCLA didn't make that average against either.
On defense, UCLA is giving up 134 yds per game rushing (7th in Pac 12) and 3.97 per carry (7th). Texas A&M seems to be decent running the ball (237 yds/gm, 6.13 yds/carry - 6th nationally). UCLA has held every opponent to their lowest yds/carry of the season - and almost lowest yds/gm - including BYU by a ton. Particularly if Vanderdoes is healthy, UCLA may prove tougher on the defensive front.

I think Rosen is good enough that with an on day, he could be serious trouble. I think there is also a significant chance he won't have an on day.

To extend your analysis, just visually from what I've seen, I'm:
1) UCLA o-line bad, d-line good. I expect a low-scoring game (well, a low-scoring defensive game).
2) Rosen is still very overrated. Not terribly worried about him or his wideouts. The RBs are good if they can get holes.

UCLA 28 Stanford 17. I hope I am wrong. I think UCLA's quarterback is a little too full of himself so I am cheering doubly hard; a win for Stanford and a loss for UCLA.  U. S. C. had good success running through Stanford's defense at times in the first half. They just couldn't finish the drives. I have doubts about Stanford's defense. I also think UCLA is going to focus on Stanford's star player so some other player will have to take advantage.
