I'd add Roman to that list as well (not that I believe Shaw is going anywhere).

Now, I don't think he's leaving for Denver either, but it's at least within the realm of possibility. As I wrote above, Denver is an unusual situation in that it is a highly desirable job which opened up due to non-football related reasons. I also don't think that Shaw will leave, but Denver is a reasonable opportunity whereas SF, LA, Jacksonville, Buffalo etc are impossibilities in my mind based on what we know about Shaw.

The quote about his youngest leaving Stanford is from the very beginning of his tenure. While he's still enthusiastic about Stanford, he's been less emphatic and specific about it than before.
In particular, after listening to the interview -- Shaw mentions something like "if I go, it'll be with eyes wide open" -- I think he will leave. Not imminently, but perhaps in the medium-term. I could see him going, say, five years from now or for the right opportunity. So if a Denver or comparable team were to offer him the job, I wouldn't be shocked if he left. Not for San Francisco though.

But you're definitely right that, based on what we know, it's pretty unlikely that he'd go anywhere like SF of Jacksonville, but Denver is worrying. Do Shaw and Elway know each other at all?

However, I believe (and certainly hope) that prospective Stanford student-athletes don't put weight on number availability.
