Reynolds and Richards play has been encouraging -- I was doubtful about ease of replacing Howell and MT3.  but the new starters have done well.  interesting that Husak had Richards as defensive player of the game when Reynolds had 2 picks, including a pick 6

Reynolds and Richards have high upside as a unit. Like them a lot. But I think they'll have their lows as well as their highs. Still quite young and inexperienced. But things could've been a lot worse at that position.

Personally, this season more than the past few, I'm not only watching for wins, but also for growth.  And the amount of improvement between games 1 and 2 was impressive.  I think this year more than in the recent past, there will be such things as "good losses," where the team might not win, but players like Richards and Reynolds (and the young OL, and offensive playmakers like Whitfield, Young, etc), show growth.

Of course, a whole string of wins along with the development would be the best of both worlds!

wim -- on a few seam routes, Carrington seemed a little lost and it made me appreciate R&R even more.  it also appears that Mason is positive on Hoffpauir and Madhu as we are burning their shirts.  also important to note that we will get one of our Spring starting safeties -- Kyle Olugbode -- back in a few weeks.  he should help the depth at S.

HE isn't disappointing.  The way they are not using him is.  In two games he has 1 rushing touch and 2 pass recept.  Pre-league season is the time to validate this move of a very talented player to a new position.  He should be getting at least three looks per game,  particularly in a blowout.  (Some arbitrary measure I just now made up.  But more than what he's getting)  Now part of it might be just Nunes'  noted tendency to lock onto primary receivers,  but still...
