Hopefully the answer is yes. Honestly, I can't blame too many people for not wanting to go see one of the most uninspiring offenses in college football, except for the fact the Defense is one of the best in program history.

Others have said the Giants were a big enough draw to siphon away attendance. We'll never know for sure; I just hope the stadium is full when Oregon State comes to visit.

The "crowd" followed its usual pattern of trickling in during the first quarter, but many people also left at halftime or during the second half, presumably to watch Giants on TV. I would venture to say there were fewer people in the seats at then end of the game than there were at kickoff, despite our being ahead in a close game.Â

There are a lot of season ticket holders that likely were not going to show up for Washington State even if the Giants were not in the World Series.
Stanford has very few undergrad alums living in the immediate area, so the Stanford AD relies upon locals fond of football to fill the house. It is a very tough challenge. Wazzu vs Stanford is just not going to be a big enough draw even for those that have purchased season tickets. It was an easy miss for a casual fan or for people with low cost family plan tickets and there was no real hope of a walk up crowd.

Ok, to match the high editorial standards of this forum I should qualify that this evidence is based on my personal qualitative observations and I did not sit at the door to count the number of fans of each side. However, in my section (upper level goal, not the visitors corner), it was easily 50/50, and as you got into the corner/endzone Oregon fans were clearly the majority. I suppose you may have had a much different experience in the more expensive seats with longer-time season ticket holders. Regardless, my point was that for a major, successful collegiate program in a home game of that stature, you would expect a packed house of home fans, and that is not what we had. As such, I find it unrealistic to expect a sellout crowd for a game like Wazzu regardless of whether we were 5-2 or 7-0.
