So it looks like there could be as many as five SEC teams ranked in the Top 10 today, and that is pretty much how it will be heading into the post season.Â
This is absurd. How is it equitable to rank these teams on the same merits as teams playing nine conference games? Here's the SEC reality:
Alabama missed South Carolina and Missouri
Auburn missed South Carolina and Missouri
LSU missed South Carolina and Missouri
Missouri missed Alabama and LSU
South Carolina missed Alabama, LSU, and Auburn
Look how many losses these teams avoided by only playing eight conference games.Â
Stanford, by contrast, missed Arizona and Colorado, and played ASU, UCLA, and USC. What if Stanford had Colorado on the schedule instead of Utah, and played Idaho at home instead of at USC? Stanford would be undefeated and probably ranked #2 in the BCS rankings today.
Just food for thought.
