St. Brown had the grades through junior year. If he actually wanted to attend Stanford, all he had to do was take some APs. He decided not to do that, which means he was planning to go elsewhere. Initially that was U$C or UCLA, but that changed to USB when the first two choices didn't work out. But the main point (for purposes of my hypothesis, which I didn't necessarily believe from the start) is that you can't assume an elite California recruit with a 4+ GPA in junior year is going to pick Stanford.
I agree that Rosen is not a counter example to my hypothesis in that Rosen expressed a strong interest in attending Stanford until Shaw decided not to offer.
