It seems the SOCC, or possibly large swaths of the student body, may be using Jewish identity as a proxy for "supporter of Israeli occupation/control over Palestinians"...and that would be a problem if so.
I'm unclear as to how this would affect the day-to-day life of an engineering student, but I suppose if one were to run for student govt office, this could be a big deal :(
