Well that's what I'm saying, to dunk a basketball requires you to get up to your forearm on the rim. To dunk a softball (or shot), you would just need to get to midpalm probably. At my best I could only ever get fingers on the rim, but if I'd really focused on lower body strength I probably could've dunked a tennis ball. A basketball would've never been possible.
So even though I'm sure the vert suffers carrying that extra weight, the fact that it's a lot smaller than a basketball probably offsets it mostly. And if you're a 6'4" TE prospect, you should definitely be able to dunk a basketball. Just seems like a silly stunt, and one that doesn't seem that impressive. I just hope he can catch a football and knock people on their butts when runblocking.
I thought about the court damage but it looked like they had a pad put down. A couple other youtube videos of people doing the same thing had pads down too.
