I think Yikes may be somewhat underrated. He took his team from 1-11 to 5-7 in a single season -- much to the amazement of a ton of people on this board. It sorrows me to say it, but I don't buy into the eternal-doom scenario for 59er football.

Big gap between eternal doom and competence.  Yikes needs to deliver 6-6 or better this year, which likely means he needs to go 4-5 in conference having an OOC roadie at Texas.  Pretty tall order with P12 road games against Utah, UCLA, Oregon, and Stanford.  The key will be the extent to which their swiss cheese defense is any better this season.  Last year they could barely stop anyone.
