So this new helmet is just for the Texas game?
I believe every C.al helmet design in the last 35+ years included the script C.al. Before that, they used the Block C. I'm not so sure about the wisdom of dropping the logo they've used for so long, even just for a game every now and then.
The somewhat abstract b.ear logo does not seem readily identifiable with C.al -- especially given that they've made the helmet white, which is not one of C.al's school colors. It's not good to have someone look at your helmet and wonder who you are.
Doesn't seem like a good idea to me, but I'm certainly no expert about this stuff.
