This isn't a logo, and shouldn't be judged by those standards. It's an image to be used for a single event.Â
Stanford's black uniforms aren't "on brand' either. But many students and players lpve them, and they are consistent with a Stanford brand that often zigs when others stay a tedious course--see, e.g, The Thunderchickens, The Tree, and Shayne Skov. However much I appreciate Stanford's tradition, I love that Stanford is not tradition-bound. To me, that is the essence of the Stanford brand--and a major strength of the institution.
