It seems to me that this point doesn't refer to how Stanford's coaches evaluate players as much as it offers an opinion about the possibility that star ratings follow a herd mentality. Very well may be true, but I took WIM's point to be a serious effort to substantiate the fact that star ratings have actual predictive value. Truly I offer a mea culpa if my inquiry got your dander up. I only was playing with your handle as imitative flattery of your own efforts with WIM's handle.
