Laura M. in first grade. I thought I felt "hungry" for her, didn't realize that was just early symptoms of crush-ness. Not sure whatever happened to her.
The first time I really recognized it for what it was, I was in fourth grade, 1972. The object of my affections was a cute, somewhat chunky blond girl named Cindy with a very unique last name. Fast forward 15 years, I was in my mid 20s and running marketing and sales for a local accounting firm. I received a call from a woman selling advertising with the exact same name, though now calling herself "Cynthia." Curiosity got the better of me and I agreed to hear the sales pitch. 15 years later, she was a dead ringer for Meg Ryan. Rowrrrrrr.
