This year looks to be a lot tougher task for the Cardinal. SC may not have played good competition yet, but I'm far from convinced that Stanford has, either. I'm still not buying Northwestern as a good team - see them as mediocre team who game-planned all summer for opener against Stanford and squeaked out a W against a team with a putrid offense that day.Â
I don't think beating the Literature's Most Famous Losers is out of the realm of possibility, but it will take far better play from Stanford than we've seen to date, especially on offense.
That's it! We have been playing crappy in one game, semi-crappy in one game, to lull them into complency! Now, Friday night, our moles deliver a case of Cutty to the coaches ready room (this is Hollywood, right?) and a bus load of dancing girls and drowning nephews to the players' hotel. Then, Friday afternoon, we throw off our semi-crappy cloaks, paint our faces, and beat the crap out of the besotted fools. Harrison, injured though he is, is assigned to babysit Haden. Easy peasy.
