In 1984, they (whoever they are) re-emphasized Hail Stanford Hail.  For a while the team did sing it with the student section after games.  I remember the lyrics were distributed all week during the build up to Big Game and we all practiced it.  It was great to sing it in unison at Low APR U to remove a little of the bad taste from the last Big Game there.  After my wife's sorority sisters sang her a traditional serenade at our wedding reception, I didn't have a frat song so my friends all got up and sang Hail Stanford Hail.  I'm still one of the old farts who always stays to sing it after the game.  When the team came over and sang in front of us on Saturday it was one of my favorite, most memorable moments as a Stanford fan.
