Too bad we can't just get rid of that McCaffrey guy.
OK, so what has been disappointing so far? Obviously, we've had one very disappointing game (Northwestern), but that was disappointing all around, especially on offense. After that, it has been hard to find much fault with the offense, with a quarterback who has been playing about as well as anyone in the Pac-12, a potent running back, and generally a team that has fixed most of its problems. If I were to be picky, I'd say the one thing we can work on offensively is drops by receivers, but even that has gotten better in the last few games.
On the defensive side, we've done well enough without being exceptional in any aspect. I think the two things I'd like to see more of is pressure on the quarterback and turnovers. But considering that our defensive line has been a question mark and hit by injuries, it's worth noting we are third in the conference in yards per rush given up (second in yards per game), despite having played the #2 running team in the Pac-12 (OSU and USC are 7 and 8, respectively). Our pass efficiency defense is more average (#7 in the Pac-12), I think hurt by our lack of interceptions. We are fourth in yards per attempt and yards per game. On the other hand, that's come against the #3, 9, and 12 best passing offenses in the Pac-12 (USC, Arizona, and OSU, respectively).
