In one of our early games against N.otre Dame, probably 1989 or 1991, they had Rocket Ismail returning kicks. Denny Green went with the pooch kick all game, giving the Irish great field position after each kick, and I complained loudly to everyone in my section about how ridiculous it was. Finally, towards the end of what had become a close game, we kicked it to the Rocket. I don't think he brought it all the way back for a touchdown, but it was somewhere inside the ten, if I remember correctly. I had nothing much to say about that strategy for the rest of the game.
