I think part of this has to do with when you went to school. For me, UCLA is not so far behind the University of Spoiled Children*--my memories of UCLA are:
1) Their coming back from 21 down my freshman year.
2) Their denying us the Pac-10 basketball championship my junior year.
3) Their coming back in dying minutes to deny Stanford bowl bid my senior year.
For me, it will take a lot of beatings to Rick Neuheisel to make up the psychic debt.
* Though, of course, I don't like the University of Spoiled Children. Not one bit.
