I've got a feeling that these players are going to learn a hard life's lesson about choosing your battles carefully.

I think the most the University can do is kick them off the team and revoke their scholarships.  They can then transfer and IIRC in these circumstances they would not have to sit out a season.  If that were the worst thing that could happen to me, and I felt as strongly as these guys appear to feel, I wouldn't hesitate to be right there with them.  I might not be able to play football for or graduate from Missouri, but I'd be confident that I could do both somewhere else.
