If they tried to transfer,  what D1 school would offer them a scholarship after they abandoned their team to pursue political activism?

If all you think of this situation is that it's political activism I feel sorry for you.  This is way more than that.  This is equivalent to a hostile work environment with an administration that doesn't appear to be doing anything about it.  If I thought they were worthy of a scholarship based on their on-field performance I'd offer one in a heartbeat.
