Even if McCaffrey passes Sanders, the naysayers will argue that it took him two more games than Sanders.  True, but how many other guys who've come along since Sanders have played 13 games and not even gotten to 3,000 much less 3,250?  That list includes 7 WR/RB winners since Sanders: Desmond Howard, Rashaan Salaam, Eddie George, Ricky Williams, Ron Dayne, Reggie Bush, and Mark Ingram.

I think that's the best way to look at it. Sanders will have the record for average yards per game -- that might prove to be unbreakable -- but McCaffrey's total is still incredibly impressive, especially when you consider that list of players you mention.
