Back to basics: everybody who is anybody in the business knows the straight man carries an act. 

Ask my personal idol Tommie (with apologies to the literally immortal Maynard G Krebs), better yet after happy hour, and eventually he'd have to fess up.. brother Dick is the crucial element.
