Rice does have a scatter band and the tales of how they survived an angry Texas A&M mob make anything our guys and gals go through sound trivial.
It's kind of funny to describe the band as a bunch of hipsters considering they've essentially done the same thing for 20+ years (maybe longer but I don't have personal experience) and the idea of a "hipster" is a fairly recent development.
I do agree that one of the biggest problems with the current incarnation of the band is that it is toothless. All of the censorship and restrictions do make me question whether the style is viable any longer. It worked best when they were allowed free rein to ask deep questions like "These Irish, Why Must They Fight?" and serenade the OJ trial.
