I've heard from numerous Iowa fans that the Stanford band has been banned from road games in 2016 as well because of the Band's Rose Bowl halftime show. I cannot find any reputable source confirming that, however.Â
I think they're misunderstanding the following SI article, which was updated after the Rose Bowl to mention Iowa's displeasure at the halftime show: http://www.si.com/college-football/2015/...ban-travel
Right? All we've seen from the Stanford administration is the second-hand statement in Wilner's article (also reproduced in ESPN, so it may have been an e-mailed press release), and that is most definitely not coming down hard on the Band.
Yes, it was for this past year due to hazing, though they were given a pass from the administration because the Rose Bowl is the Rose Bowl.
Not that I want to in any way imply that Iowa fans would misinterpret the meaning of anything having to do with Stanford.

That's what I'd thought, and I knew why they were previously suspended, but the certainty of my Iowan colleagues was making me wonder whether I'd missed something.Â
I liked this writer's take on the Band's performance (basically that he was disappointed that it didn't go far enough): http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/opinion/...rry-wilson
