When I saw the headline, I was dumbfounded as to why in the world CLEMSON fans would be angry at the Band... ???
Then after the first few paragraphs, I was going to suggest yet another impromptu rally, this time at Ted Miller's house, but, alas, the comment about "musically awful" squelched that. That being said, one of the few concerns/criticisms raised in this whole discussion that strikes me as worthy of consideration [and, indeed, is prompting a number of actions that will hopefully improve performance quality in seasons to come] is that relating to the quality of the music/sound during the field shows. I don't think the Band has ever descended to the "musically awful" level, but that is not to say that there isn't substantial room for improvement. Acoustics aren't exactly ideal in the new stadium -- for one thing, the mezzanine areas provide a constant source of considerable white noise during pre-game and halftime -- but numbers, technique, and quality of musicianship of several visiting bands over the years have shown that a good sound can be generated there [too bad it's almost always of the Hal Leonard or, if really "edgy", Queen genre].
In short, poking fun at the other side is even better if the music is great.
