The specter of PEDs will hang over Peyton's head until otherwise disproven.
I really dislike that kind of thinking. I don't care and don't know, but proving one's innocence shouldn't be required in this country, for anything. The fact that someone is accused has nothing to do, in and of itself, with the matter of guilt.

Maybe I'm a pessimist, but my belief is that all professional athletes associated with PEDs have used them. This really began with MLB. MLB/MLBPA did absolutely nothing to stop PED usage. When it was obvious that a large percentage of players were using PEDs, players sat on their hands, with no incentive to change the rules. So if you're Craig Biggio, and your teammates Ken Camminiti and Jeff Bagwell are clearly PED users, guess what, you're going to get lumped in with them as well.
Now, look at the number of NFL players suspended for using PEDs. It's incredibly low. If you think nobody in the league is using PEDs, you're crazy. The NFL/NFLPA is doing very little to stop PED usage. So, guess what. Peyton is going to get lumped in with everyone else accused of using PEDs.

Of course you are free to hold that belief or prejudice (we all know the meaning of that word, right?) but pinning the supposition of guilt on one specific person is unreasonable, in my view. Many lawyers have been proven guilty of malfeasance so all lawyers are crooks, right? Or certainly suspected, right? The only exception I am willing to make is politicians. We all KNOW they are all crooks. Except Nixon, who denied it.
