If the Zika virus were able to cause microencephaly in infants at any time after infecting the mother, that clock would probably have moved 90 sec closer. Today I learned that fetuses are unlikely to be at risk for microencephaly if the pregnant woman had cleared the infection before the first trimester. (I'm late to this Zika fever, pun intended.) Whew.
