Absolute contraindications
- Age older than 80 years
- HIV infection
- Active metastatic cancer
- Prolonged hypotension or hypothermia
- Disseminated intravascular coagulation
- Sickle cell anemia or other hemoglobinopathy

Organ donation is such an obvious thing to do. Why not? Although I'm sure I'm missing something, I know of no religious belief it violates. My wife and I plan to be cremated, in 2059. If there is a God I trust he cares more for my soul than my 113 year old body. My wife's, of course, would be considerably younger :). When our youngest grandchild voiced concerns (she was 7) I told her she could have my liver. "I hate liver! Eeeeeww."
