I see Collins and Madsen only as assistants at this point.  This search will be very interesting given Muir's basketball history and his position on the committee.  It is his first major hire.    I'm hopeful he had already compiled a short list and was doing some scouting while in Las Vegas.

I have a sense that he's been scouting for a good part of the year as any good AD would do so that he has a backup plan.  A good idea always has a backup plan for any head coach because you never know - not always at end of a season.

I also think he has a good deal of insight on the top mid-major head coaches (e.g., Archie Miller) given the length of time he's been involved with MBB.

Lots of pressure on the hire but I've got more faith in his ability to hire a basketball coach than baseball or football.
