When Bowlsby fired Wlat, I had confidence that he knew what he was doing and would hire a great coach and turn the program around. He did. I'll admit he did fumble the next big hire in basketball, but the overwhelming opinion of players, fans, and followers thought he made the right move. It wasn't.
In Bernard's case, I have no reason for confidence or to give him the benefit of the doubt. He has shown that he is comfortable with average or less. I hope I am wrong.Â
But I think that Stanford Football can sustain me for a few more years. And...I still have the memory of a 45 point drubbing of UCLA at Maples, a Final 4, and host of other memories from Stanford Basketball.
