Quote:Meantime, multiple sources told CBS Sports there's a push among some Stanford people to pass on Haase, hire former Stanford star Brevin Knight and surround him with a staff of former head coaches -- specifically ex-Stanford player and assistant Eric Reveno and, perhaps, ex-Stanford coach Trent Johnson. Reveno and Johnson have both been head coaches for years. Reveno spent 10 seasons at Portland before being removed earlier this month. Johnson was just removed as TCU's head coach last week.
My guess is the "multiple sources" are the same two "Stanford people" who like watching multiple car pileups on 101. That sounds like a recipe for disaster. A complete newbie assisted by former head coaches who demonstrably know how to fail. Well, I guess there is some benefit in knowing what failure is all about. The office/locker room/bench power struggles would certainly be entertaining.
Since graduating from Stanford Brevin has:
Played in the NBA 15 seasons for 9 franchises. (NB: pretty damn impressive.)
Broadcast Memphis Grizzlies games on TV as the color analyst.
I'm sure he's ready to jump into coaching, recruiting and running a major program. Well, maybe he has a binder like Kerr did?
Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working .I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. Peter Gibbons
