I'd think twice about cutting Sanders loose, too. Who knows when Robert Cartwright will really be back or how effective he'll be?

I wouldn't think twice about it.  He's got one year left with a new coach & new system, and he's not shown to be so head & shoulders above the other PGs on the roster.  This is just the harsh reality of college compared to professional - there's a finite time.  If you're a short timer and not clearly better than the others, you are going to fall further down the depth chart because the program would rather make a larger investment in developing a younger player who will be around for longer.

Plus, he did something to warrant an indefinite suspension which is a) rare in the Dawkins Era, and b) an indication of not being a team player if it's because of how he responded to not getting a 5th year as rumored above.
