A bit understated are we?  Sadly, the Bootleg CEB, which had been one of the best places on the internet to get a mix of ideas exchanged (mostly) respectfully has descended into an echo cesspool, where the recently banned poster would probably be on the tame end of things. What had been a signal-to-noise ratio of 10-1, has now been inverted. I left several months ago, but still occasionally lurk.  And every time I do I am sorry I did, save for the occasional well-reasoned post by Terry, and maybe one or two other posters.  Mostly, though, it has been hijacked to complain about the latest "outrage" and to circle jerk about how "we" are right and the other side is a bunch of crazy, communists intent on destroying our country.  Thanks, but no thanks.

That being said, the CEB could use an infusion of ideas.  I do feel bad that by staying away from the place I reinforce its worst features (I'm not arrogant enough to presume I can fix it, but the place has gone to hell due to a number of decisions by like minded people, not necessarily acting in concert, but more or less coming to the same rationale... that it is not worth it. And in so doing, we all contributed to the very facets that made us leave).  So, maybe an influx of rational, well reasoned people taking the rhetorical high ground will turn things around.
