The suggestion that the cupboard is empty is a pretty big overstatement. Travis, Humphrey, Pickens, Sheffield, and maybe even Marcus Allen all looked fantastic at times last year. The issue for all of them was consistently playing well (and, for Travis, staying healthy), and who knows how much of that had to do with bad coaching by Dawkins.
The team is still full of 3- and 4-star recruits, with 2 more 4-stars coming next year. Maybe none of them will pan out, maybe the team will struggle to implement Haase's new system, maybe the lack of Rosco Allen will doom us, or maybe Dawkins got the best out of our guys that anyone could--all of that remains to be seen. But the suggestion that the team lacks talent is wrong.
