In January 1982 I remember  being tasked with going to a TV store to rent a big TV (obviously not flat screen) so that the dorm could all watch the Niners/Dallas championship game together in the Roble lobby, i still remember watching the "Catch" there.

Thanks for answering the nagging question I had! I remember watching the "Catch" there too and couldn't figure out where that TV was normally kept, and why we weren't watching this game on it!

Had a similar experience.  Recall that Dallas was ahead for most of the game.  In our crowd of about 30 gathered around the big TV in my soph residence, there were two obnoxious Dallas fans who were high-fiving and cheering the entire game, until The Catch with 51 seconds to go.  Then, they slunk out as the other 28 of us cheered like mad.
