I saw a team with a respectable defense and a meh offense -- which is a of exceedingly large proportions step up from last year. If Stanford is as good as its preseason ratings it doesn't make a of exceedingly large proportions difference, but certainly Oregon State fans will get to see decent football.

That was my take as well.  I think they'll still struggle in conference, but they look improved over last year.
