I know that rookie QBs being expected to start right away is more common now than it used to be, and 5-10 years ago, it wouldn't have been weird to draft a guy #1 and have him sit for a year or two before starting. 

But man oh man.  In exchange for the #1 pick (and TEN's 4th and 6th round picks), the Rams gave up a boatload: The Rams' 2016 1st round pick, two 2016 2nd round picks, and their 3rd round pick, plus the Rams' 2017 1st and 3rd round picks.  Two firsts, two seconds, and two thirds, basically so they could get Jared Goff.  And then he's not even active?  That speaks volumes.
