my answer: Make them watch Stanford football when young. It worked, sort of. My oldest watched when I made her. She ended up at Stanford for undergrad and graduate. Downside? After freshman year, she only actually went to games when I showed up to see them in person. She was a good sport but the inoculation didn't take. Round two: Youngest daughter watched football but drew the conclusion that she should support a team that won more than it lost. So she went to Bama and became a brobdingnagian fan. Worse, on a weekly basis she would verbalize the comparison between each school's weekend result. Still does, but is much nicer about it.
