When faced with a game like this there's simply no answer to the question "what went wrong?" besides "literally everything". The OL couldn't block. The receivers couldn't get open. The QB couldn't make reads. The defense couldn't shed blocks. The DL got 0 pressure. The OLBs lost contain. The DBs couldn't cover. We couldn't even punt worth a damn!
The thing is, sometimes this happens. This is the NFL, but anyone remember in 2014 when the Patriots went to the Chiefs (IIRC on a short week) and completely destroyed? Everyone wrote them off, then that team won the super bowl. Sometimes an entire team just short circuits, and when it's against a good team this happens. There are at least 8 games left in this season, plenty of time to turn it around.
WiM, about recruiting, other than not taking a QB in '15 (which was probably a mistake), could we really have done better? It's not like these LBs were scrubs coming out of high school.
