NCAA rule books are again available. The rules state:
Quote:13.1.3.6 At the moment the server contacts the ball for service or takes off forIt was clear this rule was not violated. I don't see any of the other service-related rules that are violated. In particular, I do not see a rule that prohibits the server from stepping out of the legal service region (such as into the court or to the sidelines) as long as the server is in the legal area at the time of contact.
a jump service, the server must not touch the court (end line included) or
the playing area outside the lines marking the width of the service zone.
