I'm not worried about lower body injuries, I'm specifically troubled by head injuries. If you haven't seen Frontline's two part report on head injuries, I strongly recommend it (available on line).

The part related to the high school players who did not experience a concussion (based on accelerometer data) but demonstrated decreased cognitive function post-season, was particularly disturbing.
