Throughout all of my years attendance at Stanford games going back to 1968 and having a streak of missing only 7 home games from 1968 to 1986 (away at college which ended the streak) I had been incessantly shushed,cowed and derided for standing and cheering and supporting our boys. At this years' Under Stanford Control (again) game my oldest son and I were told to sit down and stop making noise by the folks behind us.

I would have more outraged for Stanford stadium had I not grown up in Toronto where at a baseball game in the 80s, where a woman sitting next to me called security because I was interfering with her ability to read her book. She didn't like loud cheering 7 rows above the visitor dugout.

What was our crime?  Shouting "Ricky!!" every time Ricky Henderson went to the on deck circle.
