I think the fallacy in the argument is here:
"Colorado will have just lost to Utah in this scenario, and the committee would not disrespect the Utes win by placing the Buffaloes over them. Now, only Utah and Stanford remain. Who do you choose?"
No. Utah, Colorado and Stanford remain. They pick Colorado.
And as much as I will forever hold a grudge against the Buffs for their epic on-field cheating and bad sportsmanship in 1990, it would be hilarious for a relatively weak Colorado to sneak into the Rose Bowl under Mike MacIntyre. Bearinsider would implode.
And the thought of watching Stanford get destroyed in the Rose Bowl by the likes of Michigan or Ohio State isn't all that appealing honestly.
And I think UW is going to lose again, perhaps as early as Apple Cup.
I don't think Washington is going to win the NC.
So saying they are going to lose again strikes me as a pretty safe statement.
IMO, Wazzu's chances of beating Washington went out the window when the Cougs lost River Cracraft.
