This sort of reminds me of the game Central Michigan beat Oklahoma State with the untimed down play that technically shouldn't have happened, but I thought it was the right call to make, damn the rules.
I have a problem with a team purposefully breaking the rules and being allowed to win the game by breaking them. In the Ravens' case, the rule should be that the game can't end when committing holding penalties committed on purpose to allow the clock to run when it wouldn't if holding didn't occur; meaning had holding not occurred, the Ravens Punter probably must step out of the end zone with time on the clock, which would have forced the Ravens to kick the ball back to the Bengals.Â
