He just made one bad mistake in his youth and has been paying for it ever since. Imagine going through life chalking up one year after another of NOT going to the Rose Bowl. Two generations have passed since their last appearance there. The despair (fixed spelling) is corrosive, so he vents, trying to convince you that we hate Colorado as much as we hate Kal.
