I couldn't agree more, StanfordIndians.  A few weeks ago, some guy (who was boasting of "attending Stanford games since before {I} was born" started yelling at me and my son for pounding on the metal stands to amp the noise on some big third and fourth down plays.  How incredibly lame?!?  Totally played to the (negative version of) the Stanford fan stereotype.  I just shook my head and told him that, while I've been a season ticket holder for more than 20 years, I've also been to other sporting events, and that when the players, coaches and scoreboard are begging for MORE NOISE, the home crowd should feel COMPELLED to oblige!
