Just a friendly reminder (because the University conveniently forgets to mention it every time a show gets the band in trouble):
Every show the band puts on has to be approved by a committee of university administrators several weeks before the game. And has been for 20 years. Which is one reason why the satire has become less biting. Because committees are always willing to take risks to be funny. </sarcasm>
For example, one dictum is that the band can't make fun of C.al at Big Game. This of course, led to the show "Cowell Sucks," which was completely about the student health center at Stanford and in no way relied on Cowell being a homophone for something else.
And yes, I would've loved to see a relatively uncensored show about the Minnesota situation.
I do hope that sometime this fact penetrates the general consciousness.
