My personal opinion is that McCaffrey will hurt his draft position. He wasn't the H trophy winner, he wasn't even mentioned in this year's discussion. He was hurt earlier with nagging injuries, and really only improved against lowly defenses. Had he played in the Sun Bowl, it would have enabled him to perform really well against North Carolina's #113 ranked rushing defense.
NFL GMs and scouts are hypersensitive to negative information. With this decision, will they wonder if McCaffrey has an injury that has perhaps not healed? Is he a team player and will he let his drafting NFL team down at a crucial moment? Why wouldn't he play against a terrible run defense in a mid-level bowl? And if Bryce Love has an outstanding game...which he should...will that say something about McCaffrey? What if Scarlett gains 100+ yards?
