Interesting that the SEC has no one in the top 10 and only 3 in the top 30. The Pac 12 and pretty much every other conference seems to do better than the SEC. So is the SEC is a very narrow conference, not supporting many sports? Or is it just bad at everything besides football?
It's misleading to make a judgment based on only the six early fall sports. Last year the top 25 finishers in the final directors cup represented four conferences and were distributed fairly evenly: Pac-12 (7), Big-X (7), ACC (6), SEC (5).
Four different SEC teams won national championships: Football (Alabama), Men's Track and Field (Florida), Women's Track and Field (Arkansas), Women's Swimming and Driving (Georgia).

OK I see my error. My judgment was based on only the early returns.Â
