I don't doubt that Ed and Lisa get a charge out of Stanford sports, but as his son's father and advisor he is looking at this from the professional perspective (surely with direct advice from NFL general managers and personnel evaluators) and that is the foundation for the family's decision, overriding whatever emotions they have as alums.
